Defensively, Costas has natural instincts and a good first step, flashing range to his left and right. Throws with some carry across the infield at 76 mph. During the game, Costas ran the bases with aggressive instincts and fast twitch lateral movements, suggesting that he plays faster than his 7.4 second 60-yard dash time.
