06.27.17
Uncommitted. 6-foot, 185-pound, strong, muscular frame. Segrist put together one of the better days at the Houston Area Code Tryouts on Tuesday, beginning with his 6.66-second 60-yard dash. The right-handed hitter was aggressive at the plate, barreling up three balls on the nose vs. elite arms. He smoked a line drive on a first pitch fastball at third base, then homered to deep left field, and in his third at bat he singled to right-centerfield on a 92 mph fastball. Sigrist has added strength to an already athletic frame this summer and shows excellent bat speed with the ability to handle velocity, as well as stay on off-speed pitches. Sigrist, who played second base at Plano West this year, has a chance to move to shortstop this year. He profiles as an offensive infielder at the collegiate level and will be a nice addition to a recruiting class. He plays for Frozen Ropes during the summer and is a high academic student.

03.10.17 - 6-foot, 180-pound frame. Sigrist, who is currently ranked in our Texas 2018 Rankings, continues to impress with the bat. The right-handed hitter hammered a triple to deep centerfield and ran a 4.58-second home-to-first on the turn. In his second at-bat, Sigrist lined out to shortstop. With his offensive skill set and ability to run, Sigrist is certainly a player for college recruiters to see.

02.10.17

Sigrist burst onto the scene about a month ago at The North Texas Prospect Games. Sigrist hits in the middle of the order for the Wolves and used his speed to create opportunities for his club. In his first three AB's he was 2-for-3 with a double (4.69 on the turn) and an infield single. In his fourth at-bat he beat out a ground ball to shortstop from the right side with a 4.26 home to first time. Sigrist then went 1st-to-3rd on a sacrifice bunt only to score two pitches later - on a heads up play - while tagging up on a pop up in front of his own dugout.

01.21.17

6-foot, 180-pound frame. Segrist, an uncommitted junior, showed well at the event, especially with his speed and his bat. He began the day running a 6.96 second 60-yard dash. Offensively, the right-handed hitter has a tall set-up in the box, rocks back to load as he turns his front hip inward with a coiling motion and slight arm bar. Lands into an athletic launch position with his lower half, good weight transfer as he rotates to contact. Showed gap-to-gap power during batting practice with good strength in his hands at contact. Sigrist posted one of the best exit velocities of the event at 91 mph off the tee. At shortstop, Sigrist has average footwork and hands with a clean exchange. Gathers the ball well to his midline. Shows the ability to field and throw on the run. Threw 79 mph across the diamond.
