10/25/15 - The tall lanky 6-foot-2, 150-pound RHP works through an over the top arm slot, shows some stiffness in arm action, fastball sat 68-69 mph, works fastball on a downward plane at the bottom of the zone consistently. Phillips curveball sat 63-64mph with a gradual 12/6 break. He gave up four hits during game play in two innings pitched. As a position player, posted a 7.13 60 time and had a 74 mph position velocity across the infield.  Defensively Phillips shows long arm action with an over the top release, some accuracy, average arm strength, average hands, good lateral movement, long exchange, and shows some athletic ability. Phillips showed below average bat speed from the right side and had a 67 mph exit velocity off the tee. Phillips hits from a balanced setup with a big leg kick involved, has a level path but will cut his swing short at times, line drive type hitter shows a pull approach. He went 0 for 3 during game play and his offensive game should continue to evolve as he fills out his lanky frame.
