6/10/15 - The 6 foot 2, 185-pound prospect posted a 6.99 60 time. Defensively Sims had an 85 mph positon velocity across the infield with accuracy and good arm strength. Sims has soft hands, fluid footwork, and a quick exchange. Could slide to third base at the next level easily. Offensively from the right side of the plate, Sims had an 81 mph exit velocity off the tee with good bat speed in batting practice. Hits from an open setup with a leg kick and is a gap to gap type hitter. Shows a lot of potential and ability offensively and defensively. Still has room to add to his frame. Sims went 1-for-4 in game play with a single.  On the mound, 6-foot-2, 185-pound prospect with athletic frame, uses long am action and works through a high-3/4 slot, high leg-kick delivery, quick arm, fastball sat 81-84 mph and touched 85 once with occasional slight arm-side run, curveball is solid with sharp 11/5 action at 69-72 mph and showed ability to throw it for strikes, shows confidence in 70-74 mph changeup with late sink and fade, lost some command in second inning of work walking two but finished allowing no hits with three strikeouts in solid mound performance.

2/7/15 - The 6-foot-2, 185-pound SS ran a 6.90 60-yard dash time and had an 86 mph position velocity across the infield. Defensively Sims showed loose arm action and good arm strength, had soft hands and fluid footwork with a clean exchange, Sims showed the ability to throw accurately from multiple arm slots. At the plate Sims had an athletic/balanced setup with a short stride, had an 82 mph exit velocity off the tee, showed good balance and an aggressive approach at the plate, is a gap to gap type hitter with flashes of power, swing can get a little long but gets the barrel through the zone with quick hands, good size and athleticism.  On the mound,  showed long arm action with a high-3/4 arm slot, arm shows some quickness, fastball sat 83-84 mph touching 85 on one occasion and shows occasional arm-side run, throws a cutter at 75-77 mph with some late action and a curveball that varied between 12/6 and 11/5 -action at 66-67 mph, showed good command of , had a tendency to be erratic at times in the strke zone  mph changeup, showed some inconsistent command with the curveball but has solid potential to pitch at the next level, frame offers good projection.

11/1/14 - 6-foot-2, 185-pound prospect has a big, physical frame with room to mature and add muscle weight. Uses ¾- to high- ¾ arm slot, with shorter arm action, accurate throws to the bag with carry, 82 mph arm velocity, quick instincts in the field, good lateral movement, quick clean exchange. Starts from a slightly open hitting stance, explosive lower half, good balance, generates natural lift, 78 mph bat exit velocity, shows middle of the line-up power potential, ran 4.63 home to first time, was 0-for-4 in game play. Will likely make the switch to third base at the collegiate level. Size, power combo player who could make some waves.
