11/1/14 - 6-foot-4, 225-pound prospect is a big, strong body type. Jake is a balanced stance hitter who flashes power potential, gets bat through the hitting zone with good extension, 84 mph exit velocity, short stride, shows arm bar tendency, good lower half torque, ball can jump off bat when he squares it up, ran 4.88 home to first, went 0-for-3 in game play. Uses short arm action from the high- ¾ arm slot, accurate throws, 73 mph arm velocity, good instincts, shows soft hands and good footwork around the bag, clean exchange, sets feet well on throws. Good projectabilty with power potential.  On the mound, uses long arm action through an over the top slot, loose arm that shows quickness, easy effort delivery, straight fastball sat at 73-76 mph touching 77 mph, curveball shows 12/6 and 11/5 shape and sat at 65-66 mph with near fastball arm speed, changeup shows good arm speed at 70 mph, in two innings of work surrendered three hits and struck out two.
