2/7/15 - The 5 foot 11,185-pound RHP uses shorter arm action with a high-3/4 arm slot, opens early at times, fastball shows arm-side run at 79-80 mph topping at 81 mph, Malone's curveball has gradual 12/6 action ranging from 70-73 mph and tended to be up in the zone, his changeup is his best secondary pitch and has some sink and fade at 73-75 mph, located the changeup at the bottom of the strike zone, showed average command of fastball and curveball.
As a catcher, ran 7.68 60 yard dash time and had a 76 mph position velocity, Defensively Malone had  1.97-2.07 pop times, showed quick footwork and natural instincts, average receiver, solid arm strength.  At the plate Malone has an athletic setup, big load back with front foot, showed average balance and average bat speed, likes to pull the ball and has a tendency to wrap his bat at times, has an aggressive approach, Malone had a 82 mph exit velocity off of the tee.
