5'11, 175-pound, RHH hits from a tall and open stance with some reasonably high hand positioning, uses a huge let kick with a long stride and a subtle and movement backwards to get himself loaded. Lower half really gets going with that high leg kick but sometimes has to rush to get down when he doesn’t start the process soon enough, downward momentum from front leg coming down so hard influences his swing path and encourages a downward bat path, barreled almost everything and produced some solid low line drives. Defensively, showed sure hands and average footwork at the hot corner, able to make all the plays required but sometimes fielded the ball a little flat-footed and needed an extra step to get his momentum headed toward 1B, longer exchange led to a long arm action through a ¾ slot that produced very accurate throws with good carry across the infield.
6/15/16 - Max FB: 85, FB: 82-85, CB: 72-73,
5'11, 175-pound, RHP starts with his hands up near his face and uses a rocker step to the side to begin, brings his hands down to his waist as he drags his right foot from the right side of the rubber to the left side, brings his right leg straight up and gets very tall at the top before using some shoulder tilt and an extra bit of hip turn to get closed and attack the plate, strides directly toward the plate and usually finishes balanced with somewhat of a walkthrough, reaches back for a long arm action that gets a little efforty once he heads home, seemingly slings the ball through a high ¾ release point and a good finish. Fastball stayed mostly straight but showed decent life, breaking ball was more of a slider with its 10/4 shape and gradual movement through the zone.
10/25/15 - The 5-foot-11, 175-pound prospect showed a lower arm slot than in the past that creates effective arm-side run and sink on fastball, low-3/4 to ¾ slot with some quickness in arm, fastball sat 78-80 mph (80-83 at previous event). Tressler’s slider had late sharp break to it with 10/4 action that sat at 73-75mph. He also showed a curveball with a good 11/5 break to it and it sat at 68-71mph, flashed a change up with some sinking action at 73-75mph. Tressler had four strikeouts and gave up two hits in two innings pitched during game play. His secondary pitches have developed tremendously since his first PBR outing, and his ability to pitch from multiple arm slots is intriguing.
As a position player, posted an improved 7.49 60 time and had a 79 mph position velocity across the infield. Defensively, Tressler shows short arm action, some accuracy on throws, above average arm strength, playable hands. Could make the move to third base at the next level. Offensively, Tressler has average bat speed from the right side and had a 75 mph exit velocity off the tee. Tressler hits from a balanced setup, has a short stride, makes good use of his lower half, has average overall balance, has an aggressive approach, level path, is a line drive type hitter with gap to gap power potential at times. He went 1 for 4 during game play.
