(Goodpasture, 2024) The Ohio State signee comes in at an athletic 5 '11 and is naturally smooth. He looks like he has put on strength since last spring when I saw him last. Quarles gets great initial momentum at the start of his swing that syncs up nicely with his leg kick. Not an overly high leg kick, but rides that wave down as he gets into a solid hitter's position, while maintaining torque through his upper-half with his high elbow-oblique connected in his power position. Has some present pop and works gap-to-gap. He had 1 hit for the night with a double into the left-center gap where he likes to live. He did pull one ball extremely deep to the fence just missing it out in front by a tad margin. He has a strong 1 arm finish, while replacing his feet to start his stride to 1st base.

Positional Profile: OF/LHP One of the top players in the 2024 class put together a strong showing and still just scratching the surface of his potential. Body: 5-11, 165-pounds. Lean, athletic frame w/ room to add mass. Hits: LHH. Relaxed, balanced stance w/ strong base & soft rhythm in hands. Compact load w/ small leg kick. Controls barrel through contact, slightly above average bat speed w/ uphill plane. Spray gap to gap, showing feel for approach in BP & more barrel consistency. Power: 91 max exit velocity, averaged 86.6 MPH. 332' max distance. Present gap power & more power to project w/ strength. Arm: LH. OF-90 mph. Fluid, whippy arm from H 3/4 slot w/ good arm strength and carry. Defense: Tracks it and sets up the ball well w/ easy range into the gaps. Skilled CF profile defensively. Run: 6.94 runner in the 60. Easy runner, glides in the outfield.
10/25/20
The 5-foot-9, 155-pound left handed hitting outfielder continued to establish himself as one of the top 2024 players in the TN class. Lean, twitchy frame with good bounce and a gliding runner (6.96 sixty time). Defensively, effortlessly covers some serious ground in the OF, projecting as a true CF at the next level. Loose, quick arm with some strength going 80 mph from the OF. Offensively, relaxed, athletic stance with good balance. Short, simple load allowing consistent timing to barrel up baseballs. Developing more strength to drive the ball, but a table setter hitter with good patience and sprays line drive to all fields.
