6-foot-3,210-pound left with strong frame has shown slightly better velocity at previous events (up to 79), arm slot was slightly lower on this occasion (mostly ¾) that produced more arm-side run on his fastball, curveball continues to be a solid pitch thrown for strikes with 1/7 action and very good depth, showed his best changeup to date with very good arm-side action and sink. The velocity gains have yet to come for Conkin, but he has shown good pitchability with is stuff and the ability to get hitters out.

As a position player, LHH, good size, projects as corner OF. Hits from an open and somewhat narrow stance, squares up with a mid-length stride, uses lower half well, creates lift at contact showing gap to gap power, good barrel awareness, runs well for size. Looks athletic in the OF, plays through the ball, long release, solid arm strength. Athletic 1B with ideal size to play the position, solid footwork around the bag, soft hands, accurate throws.
10/25/15 - The 6 foot 3, 210-pound prospect showed good speed for size in posting a 6.97 60 time and had an 80 mph position velocity from the outfield and across the infield. Defensively Conkin shows longer arm action, accuracy on throws, good arm strength, soft hands, fluid footwork, clean exchange, plays through the ball and has natural outfield instincts. Shows good athleticism at first base and has the ideal size to play there. Offensively Conkin shows some bat speed from the left side and had a 79 mph exit velocity off the tee. Conkin hits from an open setup, has a short stride, uses his lower half, shows good overall balance, creates some natural lift with swing with the potential to develop into a power hitter at the next level. Conkin went 1 for 3 during game play.
6/10/15 - 6-foot-2, 200-pound prospect with strong frame, uses medium arm action through a high-3/4 slot, minimal effort in delivery, easy effort delivery, fastball sat 77-79 mph with occasional arm-side run, 64-66 mph curveball is solid with good depth and 1/7 action, works quickly and pounds the zone, allowed no hits and struck out three, including one on a back-heel curveball, in a solid two-inning performance on the mound
11/1/14 - 6-foot-1, 192-pound prospect with a strong frame, uses long action through a high- 3/4 arm slot, can effectively work both sides of the plate with fastball that sat 77-78 mph and shows slight arm side run, uses shorter high- 3/4 arm action on curveball, curveball sat 60-64 mph with big 1/7 sweep, near fastball arm speed, shows to be a solid pitch, gave up only one hit and struck out two looking during two innings of work.  As an outfielder, posted a 4.51 home to first time and 74 mph exit velocity off the. Big, strong frame, uses long, high-3/4 throwing action that has line carry to the bag with accuracy, 80 mph velocity from the outfield.  Spread, crouch stance at the plate, toe tap starts rhythm, high hand start, uphill path to ball with a good finish, flashed power potential during batting practice. Turned in a solid 2-for-4 performance in game play with a single, double, and RBI.
