8/22/12 Bean had a solid workout on the hill. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound right-hander commanded his fastball with an over the top delivery. Bean drops to a 3/4 arm action for his slider and his changeup shows good downward movement. Bean uses a high leg kick and hides the ball well. With a 3/4 arm angle on his fastball he would have three pitches out of the same delivery and would gain added movement as opposed to the over the top arm slot.

Bean showed one of the better bat exit speed velos of the day at 81 mph. He has an athletic approach at the plate, stays inside the baseball and demonstrated the ability to drive the baseball to all fields. Bean showed fluid actions at first base and a good carry on throws across the infield.
