2/16/14 Moppert showcased a four-pitch arsenal with the ability to command all pitches for strikes. The 6-foot-1, 165-pound righty sat 81-82 with his fastball out of a high 3/4 arm slot. His 70 mph curveball showed 11/5 break and he displayed a feel for his 73 mph changeup at near fastball arm speed with some run. Moppert's best pitch is a 76 mph cutter that is thrown from the same arm angle as his fastball and shows good late movement.
2/15/14 Moppert is a two-way prospect that displayed the ability to throw from several arm angles from 3B. The 6-foot-1, 165-pound junior has a bit of a long-arm throwing motion, but he displayed consistent accurate throws of 79 mph across the diamond. Moppert barrel the baseball frequently from a slightly open stance with a bat exit velocity of 85 mph. The right-handed hitter displayed a flat bat path through the hitting zone and registered a 4.58 home-to-1B time.
11/2/13 Moppert was one of the more intriguing pitchers to throw at the event. The 6-foot-1, 165-pound righty sat 78-80 out of a high 3/4 arm slot, but it was the action of his fastball that stood out. He throws the pitch with natural cut action and it also showed some downward plane. Moppert also commanded a 72 mph 11/5 breaking curveball and a 73 mph changeup. As he develops his athletic frame Moppert could add velocity and his cut fastball could be a very effective pitch at the next level. Moppert is a right-handed hitter that showed good rhythm to his swing hitting out of a square stance with a bat exit velocity of 82 mph. Moppert barreled the baseball consistently while staying inside the baseball routinely. He showed capable actions at 3B with accurate throws of 76 mph across the diamond.
