11/1/14 Weiner continues to develop and add to his projectable 6-foot-2, 165-pound frame. The righty sat 76-78 from a high 3/4 arm slot with a high knee delivery and what appears to be much more velocity to come. Weiner also commanded a 70 mph curveball with 11/5 rotation and a 73 mph changeup at near fastball arm speed. The changeup is a work in progress and the sophomore still lacks a true feel for the pitch. Weiner starts slightly open with a relaxed set-up and takes a short stride to square. 11/16/13 Weiner is a 6-foot-1, 155-pound two-way prospect that sat 75-77 from the mound with arm side run to his 4-seam fastball. He also displayed a 2-seam fastball at 75 mph from the same 3/4 arm slot. Weiner commanded a 71 mph 11/5 breaking curveball and a 73 mph changeup at fastball arm speed. The changeup is a quality pitch that will set up his other pitches. Weiner hits from a square stance with a fairly long swing path. He barreled the baseball on occasion with a bat exit velocity of 79 mph. Weiner displayed good feet and a strong 79 mph arm across the diamond from 1B.
