2/22/15 6-foot, 175-pound prospect with athletic frame. Uses a big leg kick in his delivery. Average arm speed through a high-¾ arm slot. Short arm action generates a 76-78 mph fastball with some natural cut to it. Breaking ball is commanded for strikes at 65-67 mph. Gradual 1/7 action down in the zone. Changeup shows similar movement as the fastball at 71 mph.

7/20/14 Martell is a 6-foot, 160-pound left-handed hitter that displayed a square stance with no stride and a flat swing path through the hitting zone. The junior went 3-for-10 in game action and showcased a bat exit velocity of 77 mph. Martell sat 72-74 from a 3/4 arm slot on the mound while also displaying a feel for a 64 mph curveball. The lefty showed capable glove work at first base with an accurate 70 mph arm across the diamond.

7/8/14 Martell sat 75-76 from a high 3/4 arm slot with command of a 69 mph 1/7 breaking curveball and a 72 mph changeup. The 6-foot, 165-pound junior pounded the strike zone and threw his complimentary pitches at near fastball arm speed. Martell displayed a 79 mph bat exit velocity out of a square stance with a flat bat path through the hitting zone. He barreled the baseball frequently with no stride and showed the ability to use all fields. Martell showed capable actions defensively at 1B with a 68 mph arm across the diamond.
