6/18/14 Witmer missed day one of the event, but made up for lost time by banging out two hits in game play on day two. The 5-foot-9, 155-pound right-handed hitter showcased an 85 mph arm from the outfield and the ability to glide to the baseball. The 6.95 runner gets excellent reads on the baseball and will be a quality defender at the next level. Witmer worked one solid inning on the hill sitting 78-80 with command of a 65 mph curveball.
2/15/14 Witmer impressed with his athleticism and a well-rounded skills set. The 5-foot-9, 150-pound junior registered an quick 4.01 home-to-1B time and showed fluid actions defensively with an accurate 81 mph arm. Witmer hits from a square stance with a quiet, balanced swing that allowed him to barrel the baseball consistently to all fields. He demonstrated the ability to stay inside the baseball with a bat exit velocity of 85 mph.
11/2/13 Witmer showed athletic actions in the outfield and good carry to throws of 80 mph. The right-handed hitter, who had been nursing some injuries, attended shortly after being cleared to participate. He showed a 78 mph bat exit velocity, a short swing path, and the ability to barrel the baseball consistently to all fields. When healthy, Witmer is a prototypical lead-off hitter that runs a sub-7.0 60-yard dash.
6/12/13 Witmer is a 5-foot-9, 150-pound OF with good range and a strong 84 mph arm. He utilized a square stance and limited movement in his load phase to create a 78 mph bat exit velocity. Witmer showed the ability to barrel the baseball consistently during his round of batting practice and went 2-for-6 during game play over the course of the event.
2/23/13 Witmer is a 5-foot-8, 145-pound prospect that does many things well. He has an athletic frame and moves well to the baseball. Witmer showed good carry on throws of 83 mph to home plate and showcased a 4.10 home-to-first time indicating his ability to cover some ground in the outfield. Witmer displayed a short, compact swing at the plate that resulted in consistent barreling of the baseball and line drives to all fields. Witmer showcased a flat fastball from an over the top arm slot sitting 79-80 mph. He also displayed a 67 mph slider with gradual break and a 68 mph changeup that he threw for strikes. Witmer is a strike thrower who will need to improve his complimentary pitches to make the next jump as a pitcher.
9/24/12 The 5-foot-8, 145-pound Witmer ran a solid 7.22 60-yard dash and showed a strong outfield arm at 78mph. Witmer went 3-for-7 at the plate in two games with a double. On the mound Witmer topped out at 76mph with an over the top delivery.
8/22/12 Witmer showed very good promise for a pitcher his age. He is a 5-foot-8, 145-pound OF/RHP who should add velocity to his 77 mph fastball in the years to come. He uses his body well to get out over his front leg. Witmer also showcased a 65 mph changeup that he also threw consistently for strikes.
Witmer made a name for himself during his work as an outfielder. He ran a 7.3 60-yard dash and threw 80 mph from the outfield. He demonstrated fluid actions in the outfield and the ability to play through the baseball. Offensively Witmer used a 78 mph bat exit speed velo to square baseballs consistently to all fields.
