Whalen works from 3/4 arm slot that is easy with some whip and looseness in his arm. Long and fluid in the back, ball comes out clean with some deceptiveness and natural run. Stays online with some effort involved. Frame will add strength and muscle. Was 84 mph at Future Games, has been up to 86 mph. Tough on righties as he mixes in a slider at 72-75 mph that shows tilt and at times late bite. Changeup shows good action when arm speed is maintained, works from his arm slot. Filled up the zone in his three innings of work, used all pitches. Showed pitchability and attacked hitters. Showed some athleticism by making couple plays to his left. One of the top arms in Ontario for his age class.
