8/4/17 Taylor, a 5-foot-11, 175-pound righty worked 2 innings vs. a strong Michigan team at the Future Games. Taylor relies on command and being able to throw his off-speed for strikes. Not overpowering, location and being able to keep hitters off-balance is what makes Taylor successful. Arm works out of 3/4 slot, clean in the back and creates angles, breaking ball had proper spin, worked at 66-67 and had good action when down in zone. Changeup works out of same arm slot as fastball and creates deception with some fading action. Being able to add strength will be big for Taylor moving forward into his junior year.
9/19/15 Young 2019 grad at 5-foot-7, 140-pounds. Ran the 60-yard dash in 7.53 with regular effort. Offensively, hit from wide stance with arm bar at times. Bat path would get flat but sometimes would be long. Does not get cheated as he takes his hacks and showed some bat speed with an exit velocity of 73 mph. From the outfield, Taylor threw from a 3/4 arm slot, fielded balls cleanly, can get more out of arm with legs underneath him as velocity was 71 mph. 2019 with a good a start, will follow next summer to see the development.
