2017 grad who is more focused on pitching in his senior year. Still swung it and threw from outfield at scout day. Leg kick with load, bat speed is there as exit velocity was 84 mph, pull type hitter with gap power. Arm was live from the outfield with carry and arm strength, top velocity of the day at 86 mph. On the mound, Mancini worked off fastball that had life for his size at 83 mph, was able to work around some command issues early and settle back in. Works from 3/4 angle and is at best when he gets on top and downhill. Curveball he can spin and showed depth at 65 mph to go along with his straight changeup at 70-71 mph. With life in the arm and ability to throw off-speed pitch for strikes, Mancini will be a candidate for the right college program to take him to the next level.
9.19.15
5-foot-7, 150-pound 2017 grad that can play all three outfield positions, arm works well, is clean with carry and accuracy, was 85 mph from the outfield. At the plate, showed some quickness in swing. Bat path stayed level and projects as a line drive guy with some gap power. Off the mound, Mancini was 79 mph with his fastball and showed feel and spin for curveball at 68 mph. Straight changeup was clocked at 69 mph.
4.4.15
Has put on 10-pounds on since we last saw him. Best we've seen from Mancini overall so far. Arm strength improved and up to 83 mph. Nice and loose with arm and ball had good life out the hand. Swing was easy and compact while his hands stayed loose and were quick to contact. Undersized but doesn't play like it, Mancini will be middle of the order type guy with his club team this year. Can do a bit of everything and surprises some with his power. Can play either centre or right field. 2017 should have some success this year in the PBLO.
1.24.15
5-foot-5, 130-pound athletic outfielder with room to physically mature. Ran a 4.54 home to first. Good actions in the outfield. Worked through the ball well and had some quickness in lower half. Velocity was 79 mph with a ¾ arm slot, arm worked with good path, along with some speed and quickness to his arm. Uses legs and body well while throwing the ball. Offensively, hits from an even, medium stance i lower half, hands up and relaxed with small bat wiggle for rhythm. Slight pick up on toe of front foot with quiet load straight back. Hands have some looseness, stays balanced and online, will get more powerful when he becomes stronger. Exit velocity was 81 mph. Good foundation with quiet, easy swing. Line drive player who will spray ball and have tough at-bats on opposing pitchers.
10.26.14
5-foot-5, 130-pound average frame with some athleticism to his game. Approaches ball well from outfield, clean arm path with some quickness to it. Outfield velocity was 78 mph, arm slot was a low-¾. At the plate, Mancini shows quiet actions with a fluid stroke. Very little movement, short line drive approach. Bat speed is there, surprising pop for size. Exit velocity was 81 mph, 40 time 5.16. On the mound, Mancini showed good tempo while staying strictly out of the stretch. Arm action was loose and easy with good path, fastball showed some life to it, 75-77 mph. Trouble locating to glove side. Curveball had 11/5 shape with small break, 63-68 mph. Changeup was 59-64 mph with deliberate action. Must maintain arm speed.
