Gencel worked two innings and although he may not of had his best stuff, he still showed an athletic delivery and the ability to throw strikes with three pitches. Moved well on the mound and worked from 3/4 arm slot with tempo and rhythm.

Two-way prospect in the 2019 class, Gencel is a 5-foot-11, 153-pound middle infielder who will also see plenty of reps of the mound. Defensively, proper actions, hands worked well and arm was loose with clean transfers, clocked at 76 mph across the diamond. At the plate, starts with wide stance, small up and down leg lift with little to no load in hands, takes short path to ball and works in the middle of field with line drive approach and an exit velocity of 70 mph. On the mound, confidence is evident. Fastball, curveball mix, liked to throw breaking ball and was his putout pitch on the day. Arm was loose and stayed down in zone with fastball at 78 mph. Changeup showed feel at 68-69 mph. Athletic payer who has chance to be one of the better prospects in 2019 Ontario class.
