6/24/15
Two-way athletic player, Macleaod showed well off the mound during the UC Games with an improved arm path and an effortless motion than we have seen in the past. Worked both sides of plate and threw his curveball over for strikes. Fastball was 78-79 mph while the curveball sat between 67-68 mph. Arm speed is there, can involve lower half more, along with strength to increase velocity. Offensively, ran a 7.10 in the 60-yard dash with regular effort. At the plate, used a short swing and didn't try to do to much. stayed middle and tried to spray the ball. Exit velocity was 76 mph. Defensively, approach and arm was clean with sound transfer. Throws had carry and showed life from the outfield. Routes were clean and had good jumps off the bat.

4/4/15
Two-way prospect with room to become more physical. Jakob has a short, but quick arm with an over the top arm slot. His fastball has natural cut and was clocked at 77 mph. Jakob also showed good feel for the strike zone, moving from corner to corner. His breaking ball at 63-64 mph showed 12/6 shape with tumbling action, while his changeup came in at 71-72 mph with good arm action. Offensively, ran a 4.50 down the line and a 5.16 in the 40-yard dash. Showed a simple approach at the plate, was on time and looked to stay short to the ball. Exit velocity was down on the day but has been up to 81 mph. In the outfield, Macleod looked athletic and confident with his actions. Arm works and is clean, lower half is agile and moves well. Arm was clocked at 81 mph and is a sure handed fielder with the glove.

1/24/15
5-foot-11, 145-pound two-way player with room to add size and strength to game. Ran a 4.53 from home to first with average effort down the line. At the plate, loose and athletic actions. Hit from an even stance with a small leg kick. Hands were relaxed with a bat waggle and short quick load. Bat path had some length with an uphill finish. Can get more out of lower half and back side. Should be able to do given the body and athlete. Exit velocity was 81 mph so there is some quick actions involved. Defensively, was free and easy approaching the ball. Showed proper mechanics from the outfield while getting on top of the ball with a velocity of 78 mph. On the mound, Macleod topped out at 76 mph with an over the head windup and tall and fall approach. Landed slightly across his body, the slender righty was still able to create out front and get extended. Best pitch of the day was his curveball, sat between 62-63 mph with good rotation and downward action. Threw a couple really good hammers. Changeup was 69-70 mph and would get stiff in his wrist at times. Was able to repeat his delivery with regular effort and a clean arm action. Good athletic actions increase the projectability of Macleod as well as him just physically maturing.

10/26/14
5-foot-11, 145-pound athletic frame. Over-head delivery from the wind-up, proper arm action with clean separation, lands across body. Good momentum going to plate, fastball topped at 76 mph with ability to locate in zone. Curveball had big break with some downward depth and 11/5 shape, showed feel, best pitch. Tendency to pull changeup, kept arm speed, should improve and become a pitch for Macleod. Solid base to work with, strength gains will help velocity.
