3/5/2016
2016 left-hander with a compact, athletic build. Throws from a 3/4 slot with a high, inverted leg lift and long stride. Has a quick, repeatable drop-and-drive delivery with a whippy arm. Occasionally closes himself off and throws across his body. Possesses a good 3-pitch mix which he consistently throws for strikes. Fastball sat 83-84 mph with good run. Curveball was 75-76 mph with late 2-8 movement. Changeup sat at 78 mph with run and sink. Quality arm who impressed college evaluators on-hand.
2/15/15
5-foot-9, 145-pound frame with some definition and strength. Worked out the full wind-up with good tempo, was able to repeat delivery. High leg kick, separation was on-time and over the rubber. Worked from a ¾ arm slot which produced lots of natural movement. Arm works in the back with average arm speed, can get a little stiff at finish. Fastball worked between 78-80 mph with nice run and sink. Changeup was 73-75 mph with same type of action as fastball. Curveball had more of a slurve shape to it, sat between 70-73 mph while best action were balls down and in on a righty. Nothing was straight, filled the zone and threw quality strikes during his bullpen.
