Peters is a two-way player at 5-foot-11, 170-pounds with room to add size and strength. Athletic player who ran 4.96 in the 40-yard dash. From the outfield, showed a loose arm with quickness that registered 87 mph with easy carry on proper rotation. Offensively, hit from narrow stance, front foot hitter who is contact type of guy. On the mound, Peters showed a repeatable delivery, hip turn at leg kick, followed with length to his stride. Arm worked from 3/4 slot, fastball was 82-83 and threw strikes. Curveball showed some depth with rotation at 67 mph while his changeup, still a work in progress with some arm-side-run to it at 75 mph. Overall future looks to be on the mound, like the arm and should be a solid junior college player.
8.27.15
Corben is a 5-foot-11, 160-pound frame, with loose actions and an effortless release. The ability to work fast and keep opponents off balance makes Peters that much more effective on the mound. His has a ¾ arm slot and quick arm reaching 84 mph with his naturally hard sinking fastball. Though he is quite raw with his mechanics, he did show good feel for his sharp 12/6 shaped curveball at 63-64 mph, as well as improved arm speed and confidence in his 69-71 mph changeup, which had good depth and late arm side fade. A 2017 grad with lots of upside and room for strength gains, Corben projects to be a very intriguing prospect in years to come. Keep an eye out for him as he continues to improve his craft on the bump. Offensively, Peters shows loose hands at the plate and the ability to hit the ball the other way. Again, he is quite raw and has room for improvement with reps in the cage. His top 60 yard time to date, is 7.03 seconds. With a good feel for tracking balls in the outfield, we ultimately project Peter's future to be on the mound in the collegiate level, but being a 2017 grad gives him plenty of opportunity to excel as a dual player when all is said and done.
6.24.16
Peters was as previously advertised at the UC Games from what we came to see from him in April at his last event. The 5-foot-11 righty works with a quick tempo on the mound, attacking hitters and going right at them. Peters arm is clean and works with a loose, easy action with good arm speed and extension. His delivery is somewhat still raw, leaving plenty of room for him to incorporate his legs and continue to add velocity. Peters was up to 84 mph this day with good life and late action on his heater. His curveball shows 12/6 shape with good and proper rotation, showing the ability to finish off hitters with it and use it early in the count to get ahead. More room to throw this pitch harder as it was 63-64 mph. Changeup had a limited viewing on and is relatively new to Peters. He did show some feel but will need to continue to work on and add reps to his routine. The changeups he threw were 68-70 mph. Offensively, Peters has loose hands at the plate that can generate some bat speed as his exit velocity was 82 mph. He starts loaded up on back side and attacks the ball with from a front foot hitter perspective. Peters threw the ball well from the outfield with accuracy, life, and carry on all of his throws. He also ran a 7.03 in the sixty with regular effort. Very athletic player, Peters continues to impress on the mound and is someone to definitely watch in the 2017 class.
4/4/15
5-foot-10, 155-pound athletic frame. Two-way player who excelled on the mound. Corben showed excellent arm action while he stayed loose and worked downhill. Peters has lots of natural and heavy arm side run on his fastball, topping out at 81 mph, sitting consistently at 78-80 mph. His curveball had 12/6 shape with good rotation, pounding the strike zone at 64-65 mph. With great feel for his off speed pitches, Peters had arm side fade at 69-70 mph with his changeup. With a ¾ arm slot, Corben has the ability to offer up strikes with each pitch in his arsenal with deceiving and late movement. Offensively, he ran a 4.62 from home to first while he was timed at 5.03 with a stiff upper half in the 40-yard dash. At the plate, Peters hit from a narrow, crouched position while showing some quickness in his hands. Exit velocity was 81 mph and was able to stay flat to the ball. More reps will be key for him to polish his attributes at the plate. From the outfield, Peters was clocked at 81 mph showing the same loose arm and action as he does on the mound. Moved well through the ball and finished out front. Good looking 2017 prospect.
