Has grown over the winter and now listed as long and lean, 6-foot-4, 175-pound outfielder. Ran a 7.22 on a tough track, regular effort involved. At the plate, simple and quiet, hits with hands, added strength will help explosiveness, will use whole field, gap power right now, room to generate and get bigger, quicker, has good foundation and shows he has some hit tool. Defensively, doesn't stay on throws from outfield, balls tail, arm slot inconsistent and can get too low at times, does have arm speed and whip to work with, small correction that could turn arm into an asset. Was 81 mph from outfield, exit velocity is 86 mph, with frame, speed, and hand eye, chance to be solid player if he can combine everything together.
6/24/15
Lipinski is an athletic player with projectable frame at 6-foot-2, 160-pounds with room to add strength. Runs well as he was timed at 6.99 in the 60-yard dash with regular effort. Took his reps in the infield and showed some nice glove work to go along with his feet that worked well. Arm was short in the back and worked from a 3/4 slot, was 77 mph across the infield. Has also been getting reps in the outfield lately where he has put his speed to use and looks very comfortable. Offensively, hits from wide stance with short stride. Mostly upper body in swing, bat path works down to contact with some lift in his finish. Ball jumped when he was able to extend and get out front. Intriguing player who has chance to develop into real nice ball player.
10/26/14
6-foot-2, 170-pound projectable frame. Defensively, arm works from a low-¾ arm slot. Transfer is clean, arm can get long and inverted. Hands and feet work, can move to both sides equally well. Top velocity across the infield was 77 mph. Offensively, hits from upright position with narrow set-up. Gets hands loaded and back, needs to involve lower half more, can drag backside. Exit velocity was 76 mph and 40 time at 5.20.
