4/4/15
6-foot, 196-pound left hander with big frame and room to get stronger. Shows a consistent and clean delivery. Worked from a low-¾ arm slot, Larson topped out at 75 mph on his fastball with arm side run. Bryce featured a slow, but sharp breaking curveball at 58-60 mph and a straight changeup at 66-68 mph. Staying on top and finishing his pitches on a more consistent basis will bring on better execution in location and velocity. Offensively, ran a 4.84 from home to first and a 5.22 in the 40-yard dash. At the plate, started in an even stance with a small toe tap to stride. Balanced and under control, Larson would spin off on heel losing some power on his finish. Bat had some waggle and was level to contact. Exit velocity was 79 mph. Defensively, moves well around the bag and made all the plays. Throws were online and accurate, strong defensive first baseman with a nice frame that fits the profile. Was clocked at 76 mph across the diamond.
6-foot-1, 190-pound projectable frame. Defensively, fielded ball cleanly out front of body, top velocity across the diamond was 76 mph. Offensively, the young right-handed hitter starts with even stance with some movement in the upper body. Strength and actions is there, tends to want to lift with an uphill finish. Exit velocity was 77 mph while his 40 time was 5.30. On the mound Larson had a controlled tempo throughout his delivery, at times could get short with stride, fall approach in lower half. Arm works, at times can get on side of ball. Fastball was 74-75 mph with some run. Curveball was 62-63 mph, presently soft and wide. Changeup was used at 67-69 mph with some fade when down and extended. Actions are there, can fly open too early at times, more reps and maturity will help.
