Meet the eye test and fits the catcher profile physically at 6-foot, 205-pounds. Offensively, bat speed there with exit velocity of 92 mph. Hard line drives as he stays middle of field and peppered the gaps. Hits from crouched position, hands have looseness to them with whip thru the zone, more power to his pull side, finishes well thru the ball using lower half. Defensively, worked out at first and behind the plate. Velocity was 70 mph from both positions, made the plays at first, behind the dish, blocked and received well, pop time was 2.12 and online with throws. Has made strides with defensive side of game, baseball IQ is there, will be good college fit for the right program.

2017 grad listed at 5-foot-11, 190-pound with thickness and strength to frame. Starts on backside at the plate with small up and down leg kick, aggressive swings with an uphill bat finish creating some lift to swing. Flashed some power to his pull side, under control and balanced, exit velocity was 81 mph. Defensively, glove and feet worked at first, made the plays and hand bounce in lower half. Behind the plate, Mckenna caught the ball well, had some hesitation with the transfer and arm would get underneath throws causing them to fade arm side. Added footwork reps would pay dividneds for Mckenna. Player who looks to have feel and understand game, minor adjustments might make the most sense for him.
