3/26/17 Big left-handed pitcher at 6-foot-2, 195-pounds with size, strong looking kid, big lower half, passes the eye test. Ran a 4.50 home to first from the left side of the plate, runs well for a guy with size. On the defensive side, he has good, quick footwork at first base, gets in good position to field the ball, throws from a ¾ slot, clean throwing motion, was 72 mph across the diamond. At the plate starts with hands high, slightly back and an open stance, has a quick bat, long arms creates good leverage, front foot opens during swing, exit velocity was 74 mph. On the mound is where Mio shows the most promise, he’s got a clean arm, proper movements on his backswing, uses his long arms to throw downhill, more arm strength than arm speed, max fastball of 78 mph but there is more there. Also threw his secondary pitches for strikes, a curveball at 64-66 mph and a changeup at 65-66 mph. A very interesting 2018 grad given his size and being a left-handed pitcher, if he can continue to refine his delivery, he could be a guy to follow closely. H-1st: 4.50 INF Velocity: 72 Exit Velocity: 74
4/10/16 Listed at 6-foot-2, 180-pounds with room to add strength, Mio is a two-way player who hits from the left side, starts upright and open, hands up and back, gets locked up at times with his extension, working more to his pull side, exit velocity was 74 mph off the tee. Defensively, was 73 mph from the outfield, arm was short in the back, work to get his legs underneath and become in rhythm with upper half will help. On the mound, Mio worked with regular pace in his full delivery, arm was clean in back and comes from 3/4 arm slot. Fastball for strikes at 74 mph, curveball was 63-65 mph and changeup at 67 mph which he kept down in the zone with run.
