5-foot-7, 127-pound outfielder with athletic actions. Ran a 7.31 in the 60. Clean in the outfield with a velocity of 76 mph with accuracy. 68 mph exit velocity at the plate. Slightly open stance, short to contact, aggressive at the plate. Like the way he plays the game.
4/4/15
Small frame outfielder with room to develop from a physical side and add size and strength. Ran a 4.44 from home to first which was almost a full second faster than previous time. 40-yard dash was timed at 5.32. Offensively, started with a narrow stance and showed good rhythm and timing during his round of batting practice. Not a whole lot of movement and creates some bat speed with quick hands. Swing plane at times got long and had some lift, a shorter approach would possibly suit Ajith's game. Exit velocity was 75 mph. Defensively, attacked balls and had clean transfers. Arm slot worked and was able to get out front and extend. Could utilize lower half more and work on lengthening stride on his throws to create more velocity and carry. Will patrol outfield and be a base threat this year for the Ontario Royals 16u club.
1/24/15
5-foot-6, 127-pound outfielder with room to grow and develop physically. Ran a 4.53 from home to first. Defensively, arm action worked from a low-¾ arm slot with average arm speed. Velocity from the outfield was 72 mph, tendency to land collapsed on front side hampering his extension on throws. Offensively, started from a narrow, closed stance with good rhythm to his swing. Small stride with front foot that was down on time and online. Hands were in a good position to create bat speed and torque. Gets good extension out front. At times would cast hands but overall shows good actions for a 2017 grad. Continue reps and development, along with strength gains will be most important factor for Ajith.
