6-foot-1, 190-pound sturdy right-hander with strength gains remaining. Higdon worked from loose 3/4 arm slot, clean separation in the back, at times front side would hinder extension, at best when he was outfront and down in the zone. Movement on all of his pitches, fastball topped out at 79 mph with tailing action. Threw slider and curveball, slider was tight with late break at 70 mph, curveball had spin, would cast at times causing ball to stay up at 66 mph. Changeup is work in progress but arm slot and actions suggest it could be a strong compliment to his fastball. The unsigned senior looks to have a strong winter, adding strength and velocity to his repertoire. Clean delivery and arm suggest there is more to come from Higdon.
