Cohen, a 2020 catcher out of Leaside, showed well at the College/University showcase. The catcher recorded exit velocities of 73 mph at the plate, showing the ability to get out front and use the middle of the field. Behind the plate, he was 2.21-2.29 with 69 mph arm strength across the field. His glove to hand transfer allows him to be successful in getting throws off. Cohen is an interesting player in the EBLO, and we look forward to watch him going forward.
Young 2020 catcher at 5-foot-9, 140-pounds with room to add size and strength. At the plate, hits from the right side, up and down leg kick, at times bat can get long, looks to work pull side while getting on plane with uphill finish. Behind the plate, narrow stance, throws were online from the crouch, more direct movement to second on transfer should help with carry and pop time. Young grad with time on his side, shows upside and potential to add strength to frame.
