6-foot-2, 195-pound infielder with solid, athletic frame. Registered a 6.92 60-yard dash. Likely projects as a third baseman at the next level. Shows good baseball IQ. Shows good reactions in the field. Throws through high ¾ arm slot with top velocity of 78 mph. Transfer can get a tad long at times. At the plate, Childers uses an aggressive approach. Takes a flat, level path to the ball. Line drive type production. Registered top exit velocity of 92 mph. Tends to get heavy on his front side. Plenty of potential and power left to come.
6-foot, 185-pound infielder. Solid bodied athlete with good infield skills. More suited on next level as third baseman or offensive second baseman. Runs 60-yard dash in 7.02 seconds. Displays good feet and hands in field with good arm strength from all angles. More reaction fielder than range. Good hands. Hits with slight open stance from the right side. Has quick bat speed into zone. Squares barrel well with projectable power bat potential.
2/18/12
Solid infielder with strong 6-foot-2, 185-pound body. Good raw skills, ran impressive 4.9 40 yard dash (concrete) and shows 76 mph arm strength from all angles. Good lateral feet and hands defensively, projects more 3B/2B type but is able shortstop. Has breakable habit of patting his glove at times before throwing. Could also be an OF candidate if desired. Upright righty stance offensively, has good load and bat speed (85 mph) into zone with finish. Has short, quick path with long finish. Squares ball well with good lower half, power hitter type. Solid D-1 candidate.
