6/8/15 Good 6-foot-3, 185-pound athletic, pitcher’s build. On the mound he uses good rhythm and tempo to his delivery that requires some effort. He has quicker arm speed throwing through a ¾ slot. He did a good job commanding his fastball hitting his spots with the pitch at 84-86 mph flashing some arm-side run at times. He tends to slow his arm down to manipulate his curveball and needs to throw it with fastball arm speed. His curveball was between 66-69 mph with gradual break at an 11/5 plane. Has a good feel for his changeup that showed sink at 73-76 mph. Pitched well in the game setting, while striking out 3 out of 5 batters he faced and recorded two ground ball outs.
7/29/14 6-foot-3, 170 pound projectable frame. The righty has a good simple delivery that creates momentum toward home plate. The quick arm right hander throws from a ¾ slot with sink and life on his fastball sitting 81-84 mph. His curveball has good shape sitting 67-70 mph with some depth. His changeup has good arm speed at 72 mph with some fade. His best years are yet to come.
1/19/14 6-foot-3, 165 pounds with a projectable long lanky frame. The sophomore projects best as a pitcher at the next level. The right hander uses long/loose arm action through a 3/4 to low 3/4 slot. Noticeably quick arm speed. Offers three different pitches which all show substantial movement. The arm slot combined with the arm speed makes his 80-83 mph fastball difficult to square up; also shows some late life in the zone. His 64-66 mph breaking ball displays some slurvy like movement. Also showed the ability to mix in a 73-74 mph changeup thrown at near fastball arm speed. The ability is there with this right handed pitching prospect. He does tend land closed causing some command issues as he throws across his body. In the infield, he offers some great effort, and energy. Average hands, and footwork. Reached a top arm velocity of 76 mph. At the plate, the left handed hitter uses a wide base with short stride. Slightly uphill bat path. Contact type hitter with the ability to hit to all fields. Will improve as he continues to mature physically. Reached a top exit velocity of 74 mph.
