8/1/17
6’1, 185-pound prospect.  At the plate the righty gets things going with a small leg lift. Swing sequence is fluid and has rhythm. Path is level to slightly downhill. Looks comfortable and athletic in the box. Consistently squared balls up in BP. Line drive guy with gap pop. Swing works, should be a high average guy at the next level. In the outfield he plays with confidence and has obvious feel for the spot. Plays through the baseball well on his glove foot side. Ball skills are average to slightly above average. Arm is an above average tool. Throws were on target with carry. Profiles as a corner guy. On the bump, the right-handed pitcher offers a projectable build with a smooth rhythmic wind-up. Begins his wind-up with a slight closed shoulder to the plate. Creates most of his energy with a strong back hip load and solid drive. Very loose arm with slight hitch in his delivery. Arm flows well through a high ¾ slot with some whip action. Locates his fastball well. Fastball has slight run with good zip. Uses the curveball as his secondary pitch and prefers to go to it when ahead in the count. Curve has 11/5 spin action with a solid sharp break. Works in his changeup well in any count, which compliments his other two pitches. Works best when he gets ahead in the count and is able to locate the curveball in pitcher’s counts.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound righty starts with his feet narrow on the left side of the rubber. Starts with a small rocker step and gathers himself with a small leg kick. Fastball topped at 81 mph, mostly sitting in the upper 70’s with some occasional cut to it. Also uses a 63-65 mph breaking ball with 11/5 shape. Good two-plane action to the pitch. Mixed in a 69-72 mph changeup thrown with good arm speed. Offensively, he is a fluid swinger from the right side. Uses a leg kick to get things started while taking hands to launch. Takes a level path to the ball with quickness to his bat. Swing is efficient, expect more pop with added strength. Consistently produced line drives in batting practice. In the outfield, he does a good job approaching and playing through the ball. Uses long arm action through high ¾ slot with top velocity of 84 mph. Good carry to his throws.
