5-foot-10, 180-pound prospect with a solid, athletic frame. As demonstrated previously, he shows obvious arm strength that has a chance to play at the next level. He was up to 87 mph on this occasion while showing signs of a developing changeup at 72-73 mph and a hard 73-75 mph breaking ball that shows more spin than break at this stage. At the plate he starts with a tall, athletic setup. His swing has some rawness to it but there is a lot of athleticism in there. He uses minimal load to his lower half and a bat tip with his upper half to create whip through the zone. Has much more batspeed than his 84 mph exit velocity indicates. Would benefit from more weight transfer onto his front side. In the field he moved well laterally and was able to field the ball out in front of his body. He threw with 83 mph arm strength across the diamond and ran a 6.91 60-yard dash.
1/18/16
athletically built at 5-foot-10, 185-pound. The righty displayed a fast arm from a high-¾ slot. Seymour consistently sat in the mid-80s off the mound and reached a top velocity of 86 mph. He showed a power curveball with late bite at 76-78 mph and decent feel for his changeup at 74-77 mph. At the plate he starts with a tall set up and uses a simple hands back load as he strides forward. Has more in the tank than his 81 mph exit velocity shows. Ran an impressive 6.82 60-yard dash.
1/16/16
5-foot-10, 185-pound strong, athletic build. On the mound the righty showed good tempo with clean action and is on line at foot strikes. From a high 3/4 slot he showed off a very fast arm with his fastball consistently in the mid 80's, topping at 87. Throws a power curve at 76-78 with sharp, late break and a changeup at 74-77. Both off speed pitches have a chance to be very good as he gains feel for them. At the plate he uses a small leg kick for timing and had a flat bat bath through the zone. Would like to see him use more of his lower half which should help him increase his 81 mph exit velocity. With a 6.82, he ran the best 60 yard dash of the day. In the field he throws from an easy, high 3/4 slot with impressive 86 mph arm strength across the infield.
2/15/15
5-foot-10, 185-pound athletic build. From the infield he showed soft hands and throws from an easy high-¾ slot. Registered 78 mph arm strength across the diamond. Right-handed hitter that starts open and gets to even. Shows good rotation on his lower ½ and bat path gets in and out of the hitting zone. Was 81 mph top exit velocity off a tee and ran impressive 6.82-60
