6-foot, 185-pound average body frame with stronger looking lower half. Outfielder shows pretty good footwork but can improve by minimizing the number of steps he takes before he transitions to his crow-hop. Throws through an upper ¾ slot using 81 mph arm strength. Switch hitter from the right-side, starts from a tall stance, uses a leg kick for added power reaching a top exit velocity of 82 mph. Similar swing mechanics from the left-side, showed the ability to use both sides of the field nicely during his round of batting practice, reached a top exit velocity of 83 mph slightly quicker from the left-side. Ran a solid 4.14 out of the box to first-base.
6/2/14
Strong bodied, athletic prospect. Corner outfield type at the next level. Short arm action through high 3/4 slot. Top velocity of 81 mph with a tendency to throw uphill. At the plate, the switch hitter starts from a slight crouch from both sides of the plate. From the right side, he uses a short stride. A bit stiff with pull tendencies. Appears more confident from the left side with similar mechanics and pull tendency. Created better contact as a LHH. Showed strength with impressive 89 mph exit velocity. Singled to centerfield and rightfield during game play. Ran a 6.72.
2/23/14
5-foot-11, 185-pound prospect with athletic, physical frame. Well-rounded skill set. Ran impressive 6.89 60 on a slow track. From the outfield, he shows good field with short arm action through through high 3/4 arm slot. Good carry to his throws with top velocity of 81 mph. Plays through the baseball. Switch hitter. Best from the right side. Starts with a closed stance. Uses a short stride. Some quickness in his hands. Slight uphill path with solid contact. Pull power in his swing. Overall a bit stiff. Similar mechanics from the left side, but not quite the same power. Tendency to pull off a bit. Top exit velocity off the tee of 89 mph from the right side and 84 mph from the left side.
2/10/13
5-foot-10, 184-pound outfielder with thick, solid build. Showed plus speed with 3.89 home to first time. Throws from a high ¾ arm slot while reaching a top velocity of 76 mph. Uses good crow hop as he plays through the ball. At the plate, he hits from both sides and showed similar bat speed with each swing (84 mph left; 83 mph right). From the left side, he shows an aggressive swing with pull tendencies. Creates solid contact. Looks most comfortable, especially with overall fluidity. Appears a little more stiff and choppy with the rhythm of his swing from the right side.
