At the plate, he starts with a straight on balanced stance. Solid weight transfer through contact, with adequate use of lower half. Occasionally wraps bat too far behind head. Good extension through contact. Reached a top exit velocity of 82 mph. On the mound, he throws from a 3/4 slot with long, and somewhat stiff arm action. Smooth rhythm. Fastball shows occasional arm-side run sitting 78-80 mph. His 65-67 mph breaking ball shows 10/4 action with gradual movement.
7/24/13
5-foot-9, 165-pound prospect with average frame. Registered a 7.41 60-yard dash. Uses short arm action through high ¾ arm slot. Reached top velocity of 76 mph. Likely projects as a second base or third base type at the next level. Needs to continue improving footwork and playing through the baseball. At the plate, he starts with a slightly open stance. Tendency to wrap in his load. Uses a short stride with a small leg kick. Shows pull tendencies in his swing. On the mound, he throws through a ¾ to high ¾ arm slot with long, stiff arm action. Fastball sits 79-80 mph with some run to it. Uses a 64 mph breaking ball with gradual 11/5 break. Tends to slow down his arm speed on a 67-68 mph changeup.
2/10/13
5-foot-8, 164-pound infielder with smallish type build. Ran 4.67 home to first time from right side. Hits from an open stance with chest level bat trigger (77 mph exit velo). Has good bat hand finish but needs improvement with lower body torque and more top hand in swing. Good defensive base with hands and feet. Displayed 78 mph arm strength.
