6-foot, 170-pound middle infield prospect. Feet play well. Potential to play either middle infield spot. Softness in his hands and gets rid of the ball. Top velocity of 81 mph across the infield. At the plate, the left-handed hitter showed opposite field production in his swing. Line drive type bat. Balanced stance with loose hands. Top exit velocity of 89 mph. Ran a 7.40 60.
2/17/14
Parks is one of the top middle infielders out of the Northeastern part of the state. In the field, he shows natural actions with good rhythm and feel. Plays with a bounce in his step as he looks the part. He creates angles and plays through the baseball. Reached a top velocity of 76 mph with some quickness to his transfer. With increased arm strength, he could stay on the left-side at the next level, but figures to play second base. At the plate, the left-handed hitter is a line drive hitter with some occasional gap power. Displays loose hands with some quickness to his bat speed.
7/29/13
6-foot, 165-pound middle infield prospect with athletic frame. Uses short arm action with a quick transfer. Reached a top velocity of 74 mph. Throws well from all angles. Likely projects as a second base type at the next level, but with increased arm strength, could stay on the left side of the infield. Offensively, from the left side of the plate, he shows good balance. Utilizes his lower half. Hands work on a level plane through the zone. Line drive production in his swing. Registered a top exit velocity of 83 mph. Ran a 4.57 out of the box.
2/24/13
The 5-foot-11, 165-pound infielder reached a top velocity of 79 mph with short arm action and a quick transfer. He consistently plays through the baseball and shows good range. Showed quick, fluid actions in the infield. At the plate, the left-handed hitter uses a short stride with a level path to the ball. He shows some quickness into the zone (81 mph exit velocity). More of a line drive bat than a power guy at this point. Still needs to improve his foot speed as he ran a 7.92 on a slow track.
8-20-2018: Six-foot-one, 215 pounds. Mature, developed build with an athletic frame. Drafted in the 24th round this year but will return to Kent State for his senior season. Two-way prospect who projects as a position player in pro baseball. Defensively fits best at 2B/3B with smooth, low effort actions and at least average arm strength. At the plate he hits from a balanced set-up. Quick, compact swing with bat speed. Barrel stays in the zone for a long time. Advanced approach with pitch recognition skills. Had a bit of a down summer offensively, but should be one of the more productive bats in the Mid-American Conference next season. (D Jurik)
