8/1/17
5’9, 152-pound prospect. At the plate, the right-handed hitting prospect initiates his loading sequence with a controlled leg lift. Hands move back during his short stride. Launches with weight more towards front side. Takes a downhill path with average bat speed. Stronger than frame would suggest. Top of the lineup guy who has feel for the barrel. A middle infielder with fluid, confident actions. Creates solid angles with his footwork in his funnel. Moves well laterally with and glove skills stay on the move. Profiles best at second base. Solid infielder. On the mound, the right-handed pitching prospect brings a developing, projectable build. He gets the most out of his body, creating his energy from a strong scap load and a solid back hip drive. Creates solid upper body torque with smooth quick arm action. Varies his delivery slot depending on the pitch he throws. Fastball is located very well and stays true through the zone. Most impressive is his offspeed, that he works well into any count and locates very well. Very comfortable going to his offspeed anywhere in the at-bat. His spinner had 10/4 action with solid break and was located well within counts. His changeup seemed to be his go to pitch and was located very well. Kept the hitters off balance with the ability to get ahead in the count and work in his offspeed throughout the at-bat. Makes hitter chase good pitches in the dirt. Move development to come from the solid pitching prospect.
