8/1/17 6-foot-3, 190-pound prospect. Swings it from the right-side, initiating pre launch movements with a smooth leg kick. Hands move slightly back to launch. Path is level with some natural loft. Strength is his top tool and showed above average bat speed. Gap to gap pop with power potential to pull side. In the infield he approaches the baseball with calm footwork. Does a nice job of creating angles to maintain momentum as he fields through the baseball. Hands are soft and glove works. Projects at second base at the next level. On the bump he uses a slower tempo to his delivery. Transitions well from his easy leg lift into his load. Arm is clean and he generates average arm speed. Offers a solid changeup that has similar action to his fastball. His best secondary offering was the splitter. The pitch comes out of the hand well and has heavy, late sink. 60-yard Dash: 7.58 Infield Velocity: 72 Exit Velocity: 88 FB: 70-74 CH: 60-61 SL: 64-67
6/21/16 6-foot-1, 190-pound strong build. The righty uses a slower pace to his delivery that requires regular effort. Has average armspeed at this stage while working through a high-¾ slot. Fastball sat 72-75 mph and was inconsistent with location at times. Curveball has gradual break with an 11/5 shape. Showed a changeup at 62-63 mph. At the plate he uses a leg kick to load his lower half before his short stride forward. Hands stay simple before getting through the zone with some batspeed on a level path. Would be aided by a more efficient lower half. Worked well to the middle of the field in batting practice. Registered an exit velocity of 84 mph and ran a 4.96 from home to first. At first base he did a nice job of creating efficient throwing lanes with his footwork on his double play balls. Decent glove skills at this stage. Threw across the diamond with 66 mph arm strength.
