7/11/18
Long limbed, lanky arm in the 2020 class. Projects for much more physical projection, with the already above average abilities on the mound having upside to be even better as physical maturation takes its course. Gets down the mound well direction wise but could be more explosive with lower half. Long, loose arm through a high-¾ slot. Combination of length and slot make the fastball appear heavier than velocity would suggest. Pitch presently sits 75-79 mph but wouldn’t be shocked if he is a low to mid 8’s type guy as he cleans up delivery and adds strength. Tosses a changeup with fade at 67-68 mph and looks to be comfortable with the offering. The most developed of the secondary offerings is the slider. The pitch darts across the plate with late bit at 62-67 mph.
6/28/16
5-foot-8, 125-pounds with a small, thin frame. On the mound the right handed pitcher throws through a near over the top slot with some looseness in arm. Repeats delivery while working with a fastball/curveball combo. Fastball offers arm-side run while sitting between 66-70 mph. Breaking ball offers some good depth on an 11/5 plane; ranges between 53-55 mph. At the plate he shows good rhythm throughout his loading sequence as he takes his hands back during his short stride forward. Gets through the zone with developing batspeed on a downhill path. Reached a top exit velocity of 66 mph. In the outfield he has fluidity to his footwork with quickness to his transfer. Throws were on target with 66 mph arm strength.
3/19/16
5-foot-7, 119-pound prospect. On the mound the right-hander was impressive, with good tempo/direction to home plate. Fastball sat 67-71 mph with natural run and he was able to work to both sides of the plate. Had one of the better curveballs of the day with sharp break and an 11/5 shape at 52-53 mph. Mixed in a 57-58 mph changeup maintaining fastball armspeed. A left-handed hitter that uses an aggressive approach at the plate. Using little load he takes an aggressive stride forward. Ambush type hitter. Hands go back during his stride before taking a flat path to the ball. Reached a top exit velocity of 72 mph. In the outfield he has a tendency to stop his feet during his fielding position, would like to see him play through the ball. This would easily improve his 64 mph arm strength to home plate. Ran an 8.64 60-yard dash.
