7/26/16

5-foot-11, 160-pound frame. At the plate he starts in a wider stance and goes with a toe turn to load his lower half. Uses a bat tip to get his upper half going before taking a downhill path to the ball. Stronger than he is fast with the bat. Reached a top exit velocity of 81 mph. Behind the plate he had pop times ranging from 2.18-2.52, and he threw with 68 mph arm strength. Would be aided by a quicker transfer. Receiving skills are average. On the mound the right-hander showed a three pitch mix, working through a high-¾ slot. Fastball was anywhere from 69-72 mph while working mostly to the outer half. Curveball had an 11/5 shape, with gradual break at 59-60 mph. Changeup was playable but he is still developing feel for the pitch.
