7/24/18
A right-handed bat that starts in an athletic stance. Uses a back load with hands during leg kick for timing. Balanced swing that shows separation in there. Level path with both strength and speed to hands. High level of barrel feel in there. All fields hitter that can create natural ball flight. In the infield he plays under control with the ability to maintain rhythm throughout fielding sequence. Very sure-handed. Has feel out there. Not flashy but if he gets his hands on it it’s usually and out.

8/05/17
Finished pool play off with three quality at bats. In the field he is a sure-handed middle infielder that gets the job done. Made an outstanding, diving play in the hole to steal a hit from a Michigan hitter. Romans made the most of the week, won't blow you away with measurable but can really play.
8/03/17
Had himself an impressive day at the plate; even though he had nothing to show for it in the stat book. Romans is an aggressive hitter who can also work the count until he gets what he is looking for. Made hard contact in both at bats, producing line drives to the second baseman and left fielder.
8/2/17 Started as a freshman on Jackson’s state championship team. A shortstop with good actions and feel for the spot. Feet and arm both work. Hands are soft and the glove is well above average. At the plate he uses a simple approach mechanically. Separates well, creating torque and allowing his hands to work freely. Strength stands out in his swing. Displayed regular gap pop, generating consistent backspin.
One of the more reliable players in the 2020 class. A sure-handed defender and really tough out at the plate. Defensively, he has a fringy skill set that plays up the middle. Not a flashy guy but makes the routine play consistently and can make the difficult play on the move. At the plate he has added some physicality since we saw him last, looking to be more of a gap threat than we saw last summer.
