6/7/16 6-foot-1, 210-pound strong, athletic frame. Showed up to TPG with a noticeable more mature and physical frame than the last time we saw him. At the plate he impressed all day with his ability to work the counts and remain unbothered by velocity. Josh has calm, fluid movements to his loading sequence before letting his advanced strength and bat speed take over. Two of his three hits were driven with authority to his pull side off upper 87+ mph fastballs. One of the top defensive catchers in attendance as well. The receiving and blocking skills are there. Has very quick, efficient footwork on his throws to second base. Transfer is very quick and showed off impressive 82 mph arm strength to second base. Overall very impressive day for Josh.
1/31/16 6-foot-1, 210-pound solid build. Glynn has the makings of a very good defensive catcher. Starting from a low, athletic crouch he is able to gain ground to second during his transfer. Does a good job of getting in line to second base and had pop times ranging from 1.97-2.03. With clean arm action he was able to throw accurately and with 77 mph arm strength. At the plate he had a solid round of batting practice with some power potential to his pull side. His load is smooth and rhythmic which allowed him to consistently be on time. Has more strength and batspeed than his 79 mph exit velocity would indicate. Ran a 4.30 from home to first.
2/7/15 6-foot-1, 210-pound solid build. From behind the plate he has a wide frame. Show good footwork on his transfer. From a high-¾ slot he shows quick hand and accurate with his throws. Recorded pop times between 2.06-2.09 with 76 mph arm strength. Right-handed hitter that stands tall with little leg kick to load. No stride and rotates well on his back side. Slightly long and uphill swing with 84 mph exit velocity and ran a 4.57 home to first.
6/16/14 6-foot, 210-pound thick body framed catching prospect. Catcher, throws from short arm at an upper ¾ slot reaching a top velocity of 72 mph on his throws. Shows pretty good footwork to work with but can improve pop times by improving foot speed and hand transfer to throw speed. His pop times were between 2.31-2.34. Right-handed hitter starts from a balanced, crouched position. Using a short hands back trigger he reaches a top exit velocity of 70 mph. Has a tendency to dive out on front foot, and needs to improve on overall balance throughout his swing mechanics. He ran a time of 4.71 from home to first base.
