6-foot-3, 195-pound prospect with solid, athletic frame. Potential two-way guy at the next level. Projects best as a position player. Uses short arm action through high 3/4 arm slot. Accurate throws. Top velocity of 78 mph. Feet work, but may be best suited for 1B at the next level. At the plate, he starts from a balanced stance. Small leg kick to initiate his lower half. Ball jumps off his bat. Quick hands with slight uphill path. Obvious power in his swing. Top exit velocity of 90 mph. Ran a 7.43 60. On the mound, he sat 80-83 mph with arm side run through a 3/4 slot. Regular effort to his delivery. Breaking ball had good late break at 72-74 mph.
7/29/13
6-foot-3, 195-pound prospect with strong, mature build. Legit two-way prospect at this stage. On the mound, he shows quick arm speed through a ¾ to high ¾ slot. Fastball started at 82-84 mph with occasional run. Used a 71-73 mph breaking ball with 11/5 action down in the zone. Tended to slow down his arm speed, but located the pitch consistently for strikes. Showed a straight 79 mph changeup. Only allowed one hit while striking out one batter and inducing several ground balls in game play. In the field, he projects as a corner infielder. Uses low ¾ to ¾ arm slot. Reached top velocity of 79 mph (we have seen him higher previously). Shows some fluidity to his footwork. Transfer gets long with packing of the glove. At the plate, the right-handed hitter starts with slight open stance and in a bit of a crouch. Shows some quickness in his hands. Potential middle of the order type bat. Creates solid contact with pull power in his swing. Ball jumps off his bat. Tendency to wrap in his load, which creates some length.
7/24/13
6-foot-3, 195-pound prospect with ideal frame and build. Registered a 7.47 60-yard dash. In the field, he projects as a third baseman. Shows good athleticism and some quickness in his feet. Needs to continue to work on receiving and softness in his hands. Throws through a low ¾ to ¾ arm slot. Reached a top velocity of 85 mph across the diamond with accuracy. Also showed well at first base. At the plate, the right-handed hitter starts with a slightly open stance and somewhat of a crouch. Tendency to wrap in his load, but shows exceptional quickness in his hands (91 mph exit velocity). Drove the baseball to all fields with pull power. The ball jumps off his bat. On the mound, he throws through a ¾ arm slot with quick arm action. His fastball sits 82-85 mph with arm side run. Use a late breaking 75 mph curveball with 11/5 action and a 73-74 mph changeup thrown near fastball arm speed with some fade to it.
8/1/12
6-foot-2, 185-pound two-way prospect. Body has physical projection. 7.25 60 yard dash with good arm strength (80 mph) across the diamond. Good bat speed from shoulder trigger. Squares barrel with definite power bat potential. Has good lower half, but needs to improve on balance of swing. Reached top exit velocity of 91 mph off the tee. On the bump, has cross body delivery with moderate arm speed through 3/4 slot. Fastball shows some late life in zone, ranging 83-86 mph. Has makings of off speed. Curve shows some downward bite (73-74 mph). Also uses a cutter that shows some bite (76-77 mph). Changeup is basically straight (77-78 mph).
