Capable while in the infield, made throws up to 75 mph; has average feet, and firm hands. Capable from the outfield, he made throws to the infield at velocities up to 77 mph; shows firm hands, and average feet. During the event, clocked a 60 time of 7.47. Body Type: 6-foot-2, 170-pound frame. Mechanical/Delivery Notes: long ¾ arm action. More velocity in the tank with efficient lower half. Fastball: 75-80 mph. Lot of movement both arm side and glove side. Curveball: 67-70 mph with 10/4 movement. Changeup: 66-69 mph with knuckleball movement. Pitchability: Needs to command the zone more consistently. Additional Comments: Good feel for offspeed pitches.
Body Type: 6-foot-2, 170-pound frame Swing Mechanics: Compact swing, hands work direct to the ball on a slightly downward path. Hit: Consistently made hard contact, shows more of a opposite field approach at this stage. Power: Live drive. Shows quick hands, more power to come as he matures physically. 83 mph exit velocity. Offensive Projection: Multiple roles. Run: 4.75 H to 1st Field: Smooth actions, soft hands. Transfer and release are quick and clean. Throw: Throws were accurate at 75 mph across the diamond. Defensive Projection: TBD. Strong defender who could play multiple positions, arm strength will determine whether he can stick to the left side in the future. Additional Comments: Athletic with tools to work with. Nice frame that would benefit from added strength.
6/19/18 A right-handed bat that starts in an athletic stance. Gets things going with a smooth leg kick keeping hands simple prior to launch. Swing is nice and easy on a level path. Offers a balanced repertoire of strength and speed to hands. Swing is efficient and he should see much more pop as he twitches up. Currently offers line drive pop. In the infield he moves light on his feet with fluid actions. Glove works well in and out of funnel. Made all the plays in his defensive eval with an impressive play to backhand side. Two-way prospect. On the bump the right-hander has consistent tempo to a delivery that requires little effort. Showed a steady dose of all his offerings. Arm works through a high-¾ slot with his fastball sitting 73-75 mph. Looks very comfortable in his changeup and throws it often. The pitch has some depth with regular downward action at 62-64 mph. 7/18/17 6-foot-2, 175-pound prospect. At the plate he is a righty swinger that starts in a balanced setup. Uses a leg lift load while keeping hands quiet. Path is uphill with solid strength through contact. Bat speed is above average for his class. Worked predominantly to pull side. In the infield he move slight on his feet and plays with confidence. Glove skills stay on the move. An above average athlete for the third base position. Actions are more athletic outside funnel. On the bump the righty has an uptempo delivery that requires some effort. Uses a quick, chest high leg lift prior to his stride. Lands slightly open at foot strike, finishing to the first base line. Arm action is long back with developing arm speed, while working through a high-¾ slot. Fastball is deceiving as velocity isn’t overwhelming but the pitch showed late cut and dive. His go to secondary offering was the breaking ball. The pitch had some depth while working on a 10/4 plane. Used the pitch to try to put away hitters.
