Notes

Comments

2/3/19 Position

Body Type: 6-foot-1 185-pound prospect.

Swing Mechanics: Starts in a wider setup and uses a simple weight shift for his load. Has a slight armbar and casts his barrel with a flat bat path. Stays balanced throughout his swing and the ball jumps when he’s on time.

Hit: Good barrel control.

Power: 90 mph exit velocity.

Offensive Projection: Presently projects mostly as a gap to gap threat. Doesn’t show much power potential due to limited natural lift to his swing.

Field: In the outfield he plays through the ball well buts wait a bit too much at times and has a slowish release. At 1B he attacks the ball well with good feet and feel around the bag. Showed a quick and accurate arm and his throws seemed to carry well.

Throw: 72 mph across the diamond. 80 mph from the outfield.

Run: 7.12 60 yard dash.

Defensive Projection: Projects equally well as 1B or corner OF guy. Speed may end up being determining factor where he ends up.

2/3/19 Pitching

Body Type: 6-foot-1 185-pound prospect.

Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Smooth delivery with athletic actions on the bump. High-¾ left-hander with a clean arm and average arm speed. Ball comes out well. Signs of more velocity to come.

Fastball: 75-78 mph with some arm side action. More to come.

Curveball: Spins a big, gradual breaking curveball that was in the zone consistently. 60-62 mph breaker that works on a 1/7 plane.

Changeup: 67-68 mph with decent sell and some fade.

1/12/19
Body Type:
6-foot-1, 185-pound physical/athletic frame.
Hit:  Left-handed hitter with an easy load, leading to a balanced launch. Compact swing with above average hand speed. All field approach. Can swing it.
Power: Backspun line drives with the ability to drive the gap.
Offensive Projection: High average type with feel for the barrel and occasional gap abilities.
Run: 7.2 60-yard dash.
Field: Versatile defender that can play the outfield and first base at an above average clip. Fluid actions and above average ball skills at both positions.
Throw: 75 mph across the infield with 78 mph arm strength to home plate. Clean arm with more strength to come.
Defensive Projection: LF/1B
Additional Comments: Good player with two-way potential. Skill set translate to the next level.

1/12/19 Pitching

Body Type: 6-foot-1, 185-pound physical/athletic frame.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Works with an uptempo pace to delivery that doesn’t require a ton of effort. Shorter arm action before coming through a high-¾ slot. Repeats well. Creates good direction with lower half, finishing to home plate.
Fastball: 1.5/2, Mostly true with slight arm side action at times.
Curveball: 1/7, big bender. Solid feel for the pitch that showed to be a playable offering. Should develop more depth as velocity increases.
Changeup:  Solid offering. Pitch comes out with a fastball look before showing run/dive.
Future Role: Starter
Pitchability: Filled it up with all three offerings. Breaking ball is the better of the two secondary offerings but changeup is more than playable. Should have more velocity in the tank.

6/21/17
At the plate he looks fluid and athletic. Incorporates upper half through a bat tip during his leg lift load and controlled stride. Path is level and he has feel for the barrel. Consistently produced line drives in BP and had multiple hits in game. In the outfield he showed feel for the position and is mechanically sound. Ball skills are above average and he showed athleticism to his action. Gets rid of the ball in a timely fashion and threw with accuracy. On the mound the southpaw has a smooth delivery that requires little effort. Stays tall at balance point and lands in line to home plate at foot strike. Arm works through a near over the top slot with developing arm speed. Fastball was mostly straight through the zone at 69-72 mph. Breaking ball works on a 1/7 plane with gradual break at 58-59 mph. Did a nice job of commanding both offerings in the zone.

1/29/17
5-foot-11, 165-pound prospect. The southpaw works with good tempo and rhythm in the delivery. He throws through a high ¾ slot with a short arm action. His fastball sat 67-72 mph with good arm side run. The curveball has 1/7 shape. The pitch has a big gradual break at 54-56 mph. The changeup was thrown at 60-62 mph. When down in the zone the pitch had some cutting action to it. A fluid swinger from the left side. Hands move back during his forward movement. Creates efficient energy with his lower half. Path is mostly level with some quickness to his bat. Consistently found the barrel in batting practice. Defensively, he shows good feel for first base. Comes aggressively off the bag on the double play ball. Transfer is quick and makes up for lack of present arm strength. Throws from ¾ slot with accuracy to his throws. Good skill set for his age.
