1/16/17
On the mound, uses quick tempo delivery throwing through a high ¾ slot. Needs to incorporate the lower half more. Throws across his body and spins off to the first base side during his finish. Fastball showed some arm-side run sitting 75-80 mph. He showed two types of breaking balls. A curveball with that showed some depth at 62-67 mph with 11/5 tilt. He drops his arm slot a little on his slider. Which sat 65-66 mph with sweeping action. He also featured a knuckleball that tumbled at 65-66 mph. Posses advanced strength and bat speed at the plate. Stays fluid during load before exploding through the zone. Has the potential to hit for power at the next level. At third base he moves very well for frame. Plays light on his feet and does a nice job creating angles to play through the ball efficiently. Showed the ability to use his bare hand on slow rollers.
60-yard Dash: 7.9
Exit Velocity: 89
Infield Velocity: 76
6-foot, 245-pound prospect. Ran a 7.65 60-yard dash. Hensley has advanced strength and bat speed from the right side. The ball explodes off his bat and he has power potential to come. Consistently squared balls up in batting practice and reached an exit velocity of 94 mph off the tee. It was our first time seeing Hensley and he didn’t disappoint. Mechanically sound footwork at third base with the ability to play through the ball efficiently. Showed confidence in his glove. Showed off 76 mph arm strength across the diamond. On the mound the right-hander showed of a 76-80 mph fastball while working through an over the top slot. His fastball was complimented by a curveball/knuckleball combination. His curveball has gradual break while working on an 11/5 plane. Has feel for a knuckleball that had some dance to it.
