6/6/16 Two-way prospect with a 6-foot-2, 185-pound, strong, athletic frame. Starting in an athletic setup he uses a short stride for timing. During his stride he takes his hands back to remain balanced. Weight stays mostly on his back leg during his stride which causes a slightly uphill bat path. Average batspeed at this stage. Would see improvements to pop and his 85 mph exit velocity with more weight transfer into contact. Ran a 7.54 60-yard dash. Creates strong accurate throws to first. Top velocity of 84 mph across the diamond. Hands and feet are average for the left side. Could potentially become a first baseman in the future. Has skill set and size that may lead him in that direction. On the mound he has a slower paced tempo to a delivery that requires regular effort. Long, loose arm action with some quickness to it. Fastball sat 82-85 mph. Throws his breaking ball hard at 72-74 mph causing tight spin and late action.
6/30/15 6-foot-2, 185-pound athletic body frame. From third base he needs to keep his feet moving and play through the baseball. He fields with his hands out in front of his body nicely. He throws with a clean arm action coming from a ¾ slot, using 80 velocity across the infield. Right-handed hitter starts from a tall, open stance getting himself back to being squared up to even before he swings. Starts his load back with his hands a bit too early on occasion. He swings with a level bat path through the zone, finishing with a two-handed follow through. Did a nice job showing the ability to use both parts of the field during his round of batting practice. He reached a top exit velocity of 83 mph and ran a 4.61 out of the batter’s box to first base. On the mound he throws using regular effort to his delivery. He lands in a straight line at foot strike, finishing with his momentum carrying towards first base side. He throws using just above average arm speed, coming from a ¾ slot. His fastball was between 82-86 mph and mixed it in well with a good feel for his changeup, that had arm-side run and sink to the pitch between 73-76 mph.
2/16/15 6-foot-2, 185-pound body frame. In the outfield he takes good strides to the baseball but could improve his footwork by breaking down his strides a little bit more just before he approaches the ball. Shows good crow hop mechanics while finishing with a clean arm action coming through a high-¾ slot reaching a top velocity of 84 mph on his throws. Right-handed hitter that starts open and gets to even. Shows a strong lower-½ with some strength in his swing and 77 mph exit velocity. Ran 7.75-60. On the mound he has a slow tempo delivery that lands closed. From a high-¾ slot his fastball sits 77-80 mph with down angle and arm-side run. Needs to get on top of his breaking more which will give him a sharper 11/5 break at 69-71 mph. Showcased a solid changeup near fastball speed at 71-72 mph.
7/29/14 6-foot-1, 175 pound projectable frame. Projects as a third baseman that shows good footwork and hand for his age. He throws from an easy ¾ slot with top velocity of 81 mph across the diamond. Right-handed hitter stands straight up then produce a good load to an athletic set up. He cast his hands a bit with a flat swing and top exit velocity of 77 mph and a home to first of 4.79. On the mound the righty has a slow delivery that throws over top and fall off a bit on his finish. His fastball sits 79-80 with some down angle. His curveball is more of a slurve at 70 mph and a changeup at 70-72 with good arm speed.
2/17/14 Has athletic 5-foot-11, 165-pound thin frame with room to fill. Infielder played from his heels. Will improve as he plays through and creates angles. Tends to let the ball get deep. Showed arm strength for his age at 71 mph. Offensively, starts from a slightly open stance, uses a small front step and swing, no trigger, but showed ability to make contact. Ran a 7.82 60-yard dash. On the mound, he throws with long arm action through high 3/4 arm slot. Fastball had occasional sink in the low to mid 70's. Changeup show similar movement to his fastball at 70-71 mph.
