7/19/16 5-foot-11, 160-pound prospect. It’s not often that a first baseman makes the defensive standout list but he was really impressive during his workout. Very athletic for the first base position with the ability to move off the bag with ease. Created excellent angles with his footwork on his double play balls and had quickness to his transfer. Behind the plate he has really quick feet and adequate transfer. Would like to see him work on shorter arm action with his throws.Pop times ranged from 2.09-2.17, and he threw with 70 mph arm strength to second base. Has a fluid swing from the left side. He takes his hands back during his stride forward before getting through the zone on a compact, level path. Sprayed line drives all over the field and showed impressive pop to his pull side. Top exit velocity was 83 mph and he ran a 7.39 60-yard dash.
