As the No. 1 player in the state it's hard to improve your stock but Emerson has done just that. The game play has always been top of the class and over the past  calendar year he has added strength / grown into his frame which has shown an uptick in measurables.  At the U.S.A. trials he ran a 6.7, showed triple digit jump off the bat and an 88mph arm strength across the diamond. Add that to one of the country's top hit tools and it's no surprise he made the U.S.A roster. 

Hit: Top ranked player in the 2023 class. Near the total package at the plate. Athletic, good mover with a ton of barrel feel. Backsp[in everything around the field in BP.
Power: Easy gap pop.
Offensive Projection: Multiple Roles.
Max BP Exit Velocity: 93 mph
Max BP Distance: 281 ft
Field: High level defender behind the dish and in the infield. Everything he does is smooth/athletic. Ball skills through the roof. Talented.
Throw: Clean arm with jump presently and more to come.

2/9/20 Position Player
Hit: At the plate Emerson shows a balanced stroke and strong hands. He drives his barrel through the zone well and has an on plane bat path which will translate well to extra base hits. 
Power: 85 mph exit velocity.
Offensive Projection: Shows a good, projectable swing with the ability to be a gap to gap guy with upside in the power department.
Field: In the infield Emerson attacks the ball with good rhythm and timing. Shows pretty good feet and good glove skills with an efficient transfer on his throws. Behind the plate Emerson showed quick feet and hands with smooth transfers on his throws.
Throw: 78 mph across the diamond and 75 mph from behind the plate.
Defensive Projection: At the high school level he’s certainly more valuable at SS but he may end up projecting just as well or better behind the plate depending on how he develops physically. Good athlete with good natural glove skills and instincts.

Body Type: 5-foot-9, 145-pound athletic frame.
Swing Mechanics: Left-handed hitter that starts in a taller setup. Smooth, simple load.
Hit: The top pure hit tool at the event. Everything works and the natural tools are obvious. Advanced feel for contact with the ability to use the entire field. Landed on balls in BP.
Power: 85 mph exit velocity. Present gap abilities that should develop into some raw power down the road. 87 mph off the bat in BP.
Offensive Projection: 3-hole look to him.
Run: 4.81 H-1st.
Field: Talented defender who you can throw in the middle infield or behind the dish. Actions are athletic in the infield with feel for his feet and well above average ball skills. Behind the dish he does everything at an above average clip and brings unusual athleticism to the spot. Popped in the 2.03-2.18 range.
Throw: 72 mph across the diamond and and 70 mph from the crouch.
Defensive Projection: C/INF.

Very talented, well rounded prospect. Turned in the top performance on the day behind the dish. Mechanically sound with feel for the spot. Catch and throw skills are advanced for his age, popping in the 2.04-2.19 range. Adding to his defensive versatility he also looks smooth in the infield, showing middle infielder hands and feet. A left-handed hitter that starts in an athletic stance. Pre launch movements are fluid and athletic, creating both timing and energy. Impressive barrel feel for class inside his level swing. Bat has obvious whip through the zone on a nice, level path. Line drive swing presently with much more to come.
