6/6/16 A two-way prospect with a 6-foot-1, 190-pound athletic frame. A top level athlete with all the physical tools to produce offensively at the next level. Looked impressive in batting practice as the ball jumps off his bat when he squares it up. An ambush type hitter that uses an aggressive stride for timing. Would like to see him have more control before his weight shift as his current style could create inconsistencies in game action. Didn’t affect him on this day though as he went deep and recorded two other hits during game play. Registered an exit velocity of 90 mph and ran a 6.78 60-yard dash. Physically impressive frame. His arm works well above average. Top velocity of 93 mph with carry. Projects as a corner outfielder. Footwork lacks fluidity and needs improvement to become consistent outfielder. On the mound he has obvious arm talent as the ball explodes out of his hand. Fastball sat between 84-90 mph, was up to 91 mph this spring. Curveball had some sharpness to it with an 11/5 shape at 67-68 mph. Will need to be a more consistent strike thrower.
8/23/15 6-foot-1, 180-pound solid, athletic build. Right-handed hitter with good fluid load to get his foot down and hands back. Shows real bat speed with a flat swing and some power. Registered top exit velocity of 92 mph and ran a 6.94-60. From the outfield he tends to sit back and use a good crow hop. Throws from a long, high-3/4 slot with 89 mph arm strength. On the mound he has a slow tempo delivery that tends to speed up at foot strike. From over top his fastball will sit 84-87 mph topping out at 88 mph with serious cut to it. His command improved each week. Throws a breaking ball with big 12/6 tilt at 66 mph. Showed a changeup with good arm speed at 75 mph and occasional fade to it.
6/30/15 6-foot-1, 180-pound athletic body frame. From the outfield he shows good footwork approaching ground balls and fields glove side near his left foot. Needs to improve a little on his footwork transitioning into a crow hop. He throws with a clean arm action coming from a ¾ slot using 84 mph velocity. Right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance, getting himself squared back up to being even before he swings. He lands slightly harder on his front foot and loads with his hands moving back, close to an arm-bar position. He sprayed the ball all over the field during his round of batting practice, reaching a top exit velocity of 92 mph and ran a solid 4.12 out of the batter’s box to first base. On the mound he throws using regular effort to his delivery. Lands closed at foot strike, throwing across his body. He throws using quick arm speed coming from an upper ¾ close to being over the top slot. He struggled a little bit with his command on this occasion, but his fastball was up to 88 mph, sitting between 84-88 mph. His curveball has gradual break to it at 68-70 mph with 11/5 tilt, coming close to breaking at 12/6. Slows his arm speed down on his changeup at 64-67 mph.
6/8/15 6-foot-1, 175-pound athletic body frame. From the outfield he shows pretty good footwork approaching ground balls, transitioning into a big crow hop. He fields the baseball out front on his glove side near his left foot. He throws using a clean arm action through an upper ¾ slot reaching a top velocity of 82 mph with some carry on his throws. Right-handed hitter starts from an open stance with a quicker leg lift getting back to being squared up to even. He could get his foot down sooner to help with his timing so he wouldn’t have to rush his leg lift. He uses a fluid hands back to shoulder load and swings with pretty much a flat bat path through the zone, finishing with a one-handed follow through. One the mound he throws using regular effort, using slower paced, simple mechanics. He lands even, in a straight line at foot strike. He finishes with his momentum falling toward first base side. He uses a very slight shoulder tilt for leverage on his pitches, using quick arm speed coming from an upper ¾ slot. His fastball showed some arm-side run at 83-87 mph. His curveball was between 67-71 mph with gradual break at an 11/5 plane. He threw his changeup using just below average fastball arm speed at 69-70 mph.
10/26/14 6-foot-1, 175-pound athletic build. From the outfield he projects more as a corner guy. Throws from a ¾ slot and shows a 86 mph arm from the outfield, but takes too many steps to his crow hop. Right-handed hitter that starts even with good rhythm in his hands. Uses a little load and registered 85 mph exit velocity and ran a 7.05 60-yard dash. On the mound he really shined using a simple delivery, with good balance that has tendency to fall off a bit after foot strike. Throws from a high-¾ slot with fastball sitting 81-84 mph topping out at 86 with some cut. Breaking ball has good spin at 67-69 mph with a 11/5 break and throws a hard changeup at 78-79 mph with good life.
8/10/14 6-foot, 170 pound projectable frame. From the infield he shows decent range and takes too long to get rid of the ball after his exchange. He throws from a high ¾ slot with top infield velocity of 75 mph. From the outfield he uses a good crow hop to create momentum. Throws from a high ¾ slot with top outfield velocity of 80 mph. Right handed hitter that starts slightly open and gets to even. Short quick swing with top exit velocity of 82 and 4.6 home to first. On the mound the righty uses a simple delivery and lands on line at foot strike and then falls off. Fastball from a high ¾ slot sitting 80-82. His breaking ball is a little inconsistent at 69-71 mph
