1/26/19

Body Type: Looks the part. 6-foot-2, 190-pound physical/athletic frame.
Swing Mechanics: Balanced setup, toe turn timing trigger with a vertical barrel launch.
Hit: Had a tendency to pull off the ball a bit in BP but the tools are obvious. Aggressive swinger with a level path. Hit tool was advanced when he stayed through. Obvious physicality and bat speed.
Power: 90 mph exit velocity. Landed on a few balls in BP. Run producer look to him with the ability to leave the yard presently.
Offensive Projection: Run Producer.
Run: 4.75 home to first.
Field: 1.94-2.01 pop times.  Obvious feel for the catcher position. Stood out in all facets of his game behind the dish. Receives well and showed above average catch/throw abilities. Talented defender.
Throw: 78 mph from the crouch.
Defensive Projection: C.
Additional Comments: Scholarship level player. Left-handed hitting catcher with a loud bat and defensive abilities that will carry to the next level.

7/18/17

A 6-foot-2, 175-pound prospect. Offensively, he is a left-handed bat that starts in a wider setup. Mechanically simple, slight back load during short stride. Path is level and barrel is on plane early. His combination of strength and bat speed stood amongst the rest. Barrel works on a level plane, allowing him to use the entire field. A gap to gap guy presently, with signs of more power on the way. Behind the plate, he has an ideal frame for the position. Showed flexible hips with preset footwork. Actions are fluid and transfer is clean. Has obvious feel for the position.

7/06/16

6-foot-1, 165-pound athletic body frame. Left-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance using a rhythmic weight shift with his lower half to his back leg to generate power, before striding back to being squared up. Fluid load with his hands moving slightly past his back shoulder. Swings with a level bat path through the zone, while showing the ability to use both sides of the field. Recorded a top exit velocity of 83 mph and ran a 7.57 60-yard dash. From behind the plate, he shows average footwork. Transitions from the crouch into a high ¾ slot with 69 mph arm strength. Pop times ranging 2.2-2.28.

5/31/16

6-foot-1, 165-pound strong, athletic build. At the plate the lefty uses a simple approach and lets his advanced strength and batspeed go to work. Consistently found the barrel in batting practice. Gap to gap type hitter at this stage with power to come as he learns how to use his lower half more efficiently. Registered an exit velocity of 77 and ran a 4.48 from home to first. Behind the plate his pop times ranged from 2.12-2.2, and he threw with 68 mph arm strength.
